My Take on the show:-
The end of something painful is always the beginning of something beautiful. When we come face to face with a problem or when we face a rejection, we immediately go into a shell and convince ourselves that we don’t deserve anything good. What we fail to notice is that God’s rejection is always a redirection. When he takes something away from our life, he knows that we deserve bigger, better and more beautiful things and thus is preparing us to receive the grand blessings that he has in store for us.
The show talks about many beautiful things. When we are busy looking for something we want, God is preparing us to receive what we need, to receive something that is abundant and will last longer.
Ba-ram is rejected by his first love and the same person goes on to deceive and betray him leaving him dejected, lonely and sad. What he didn’t see coming was a blessing in the form of Im Han-tae and his band mates Young-mi and Jeong-pal. When one wrong person leaves his life, he gets to welcome three beautiful souls.
Han-tae’s love for Ba-ram is selfless. His mission is to give a better and successful life to Ba-ram. An unexpected encounter as high school kids turns into a beautiful friendship, companionship and love.
Both Ba-ram and Han-tae did not intend to fall in love with each other. But it is inevitable. They mean the world to one another and their presence in each other’s lives is like sunshine and daisies.
What the show teaches us:
1) When we face rejection, it is not the end of the world. Something more beautiful is awaiting us. It will reach us at the perfect time if we choose not to give up and stand in faith with patience.
2) Love when selfless is the most beautiful form of emotion. You give without expectations and receive without questions.
3) The world is made up of both good and evil. It is up to us to choose the right path. The good and the righteous path will always take longer and the road is often laden with thorns, obstacles and difficulties. But the light at the end of that tunnel is the brightest. The temptation to reach the finish line faster is always the evil. The evil path will make a monster out of us.
The show teaches us to be hopeful and wait for the good days to reach us. It teaches us that the world is filled with kind human beings and we can always have beautiful and meaningful friendships and relationships. The road to happiness is not to go searching for it outside and attaching it to material things but to find the light and happiness within us.
The Actors, The Director and the Writer:-
What I loved about Jang Do-yoon and Son Hyun-woo as Ba-ram and Han-tae is their dedication towards their roles and the precision with their portrayal. Their acting and chemistry is natural and genuine. They are two extremely talented budding young actors and I look forward to their future work.
Bang Yoo-in and Koo Ja-keon as Young-mi and Jeong-pal have shown strong skills as actors and their potential to grow in the industry. Their portrayal was simple and innocent.
Director So Joon-moon and Writer Lee Do-ah have managed to produce a beautiful drama with a captivating storyline and comforting characters. I now find myself interested in other works of theirs that I can fill my days with.
